Hi, I just bought this backpack from Circuit City, and I was wondering how good the laptop pocket really is.

This is my first laptop backpack and to be honest the padding on the laptop compartment isn't that thick (but maybe it is enough?) I like how it looks and everything, but I'm currently going to college, so I'll be carrying around 2-3 books that are heavy, at a time. I was wondering if anyone who has this backpack knows just how safe it is on the laptop and how much weight can I carry without damaging my laptop. (Sony Vaio VGN-C220E)

I just don't want to turn my laptop on and see my screen messed up, http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/prod...FEED->PRODUCTS&cm_ite=1 PRODUCT&cm_keycode=67

I am the one the posted the Circuit City deal thread here, and I also purchased the Metro. I've checked out a lot of backpacks personally, and this is one of the better padded among the ones I've seen. It should be just fine for you. I'm really happy with mine. It's a reasonably high end backpack that we were able to get at such a bargain price! :D

Yeah, I just took it to school this weekend, really like it so far. Was pretty heavy fully loaded with about 4 books, but that is to be expected.

The only thing that I didn't like was the entry sleeve to the laptop area, because it is so tight, well my laptop fits perfect, but the zipper has no rubber on it or anything, and if you aren't careful it'll scratch the side of your lappy. It did that to mine, but it's super small so you can't tell, I just have OCD about those type of things.

But other then that yeah the thing is awesome, thanks for the link. Can't beat it for 30 bucks.

Good note about the zipper, I thought that might be something to watch for, and this confirms it.

Like I said, I bought one, but I haven't had a chance to use it yet, so I'll be sure and watch out for the zipper. I wonder if a small form fitting notebook sleeve would work well?

Glad it's working out for you!
