    Hi guys

I'm planning to buy a new LCD monitor to attach to my Acer laptop and watch HD movies/play games.

My laptop max resolution is 1366x768 and I always use it. So i'm planning to buy a LCD monitor with Native Resolution 1366x768 - 19" or 22".

Well I play almost all my games on 1024x768 or 1366x768.

So I would like to know if games played at 1366x768 look overstretched on a 19"/22" screen?

I would also like to know if a game will be very distroted if I try to play it at 1024x768 (or maybe 800x600) on the new 19"/22" monitor.

    Thanks in advance! :)

    Acer Aspire 6920G
    Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, 16" HD LCD, 512 MB dedicated NVidia 9500M GS, 4GB DDR2.

If you sure that your laptop does handle anything higher than 1366x768 smoothly then I suggest getting a monitor with a maximium resolution of 1440x900. I don't recall any native monitors that are 1366x768 that are 19"/22".

The higher resolution you buy, the smaller the pixels, the better it will look when down scaled. So if you buy 1920*1080, it will not look too bad on 1366*768.

Of course it would be better to buy 1366*768, but I don't think they sell them.

I would recommend LG W2261V-PF. It has one of the highest real life contrast rates.

I don't believe they sell LCD monitors with the size you are looking for in 1366x768, not that I know of anyway. However, I have seen them in some HDTVs. My old Samsung 32" 720p HDTV (LNT3242h) had that resolution. Most LCDs today come in either 1680x1050 or 1920x1200...

You don't need a 16:9 ratio ext. screen. Your GPU can drive any standard resolution and games will look fine as long as it's set to that resolution.

    Hi guys...

considering my laptop screen is already 16", I guess it would make sense if I go for at least 19"-22" monitor.

Assuming that the LCD monitor has a native resolution like 1680x1050 or 1920x1080, that's great for normal use/HD movies

But if I want to play games @ 1024x768 or 800x600.... How does that look on a 19" / 22" screen?

If the answer is that - the game will look distorted/real bad.. then maybe it would be a waste to buy an LCD...

    Thanks! :)
