Okay i made a thread awhile ago about getting a notebook cooler and people recommended the zalman nc 2000. Are there any other coolers cheaper? that are just as effecient as the zalman at cooling? Or i should spend the etc money and pick one up for the best cooling?. Also will this cooler work good for the sager 2090???Or is there particular one for the sager 2090 that works best for it?
Thanks !

The Zalman is well worth the money. The NC2000 is better overall than the NC1000 , but a NC1000 would be enough for your system also.
-
The 1000 is for up to 15.4in laptops while the NC2000 is for up to 20in.
I just got the NC2000 and I love it; very much worth in my opinion. -
okay ill make the purcahse tonight.
-
bought NC2000 im very happy i didnt go with anything else

Hi folks,
@ X2P ... Great Cooler Guide ... THANKS!
X2P ... when I was reading your new Guide you "Emphasized" to make sure my Laptop Fans Opening "LINE-UP" with the Cooler's fan ...
Q1: So is NC1000 or NC2000 the CORRECT cooler for the NP2092?!?! (Since I have not received my laptop yet).
Q2: When you have a 9 Cell battery on 2090 or 2092 ... does Zalman cooler bump into the battery ... basically causing problem!?!?
@ Softix ... are you also using it on 2090 laptop?
@ eleron ... so, you think NC1000 should be more than enough for the NP2092 (since is 15.4" laptop)?
Thanks,
G! -
I got an NC2000 for my laptop (17") and an NC1000 for my gf's 2092. I really think the NC2000 is too big for a 15". NC1000 is the right fit for her notebook.
-
Do you have a picture of how the battery looks like while in the notebook? -
Hi X2P,
I have not got my 2092 yet ... but this is what is supposed to look like ... see attached pictures.
Thanks,

Either way I almost would say NC2000. Since it would cover more area and you have vents all over the place meaning for most effectiveness hitting more vents is better -
Yea, I think the NC2000 is the better choice. Have you look at how the nc1000 stack on a 15.4", maybe you can decide later.

Like the other thread, you'll need to literally hang your notebook forward on the nc1000 to get maximum cooling.
(Is your laptop a 15.4"?) -

gonwk, I have personal hands on experience with the exact notebook model you are getting (with the jutting out battery). Unless you really think that the NC2000 is going to give you way better cooling, the NC1000 is the best bet. It fits very well. The NC2000 is even bigger than my monster NP9262. The NC1000 fits the NP2092 great.

I've got the ZM-NC2000 on the NP2090, and for my personal tastes, I wouldn't want anything smaller than this. To be honest, before reading X2P's review, I thought the NC1000 would be about the same size as this thing. I really thought this one would be a lot larger. I'm able to get air to all of the vents, except for part of the intake fan. All of my temperatures have gone down, up to 12 degrees even.
So, I would say it is best to get the NC2000. -
Hi Ya'll,
@ X2P ... thanks for your reply ... NP2092 is 15.4" and it has heavy duty (in my mind anyway) GPU ... I plan though to use the unit for heavy and intensive Video work ... so a lot of CPU crunching ...
@ sirmetman ... Thanks for your feedback.
@ Azone ... Thanks for the Temperature number ... 12 degrees ... wow ...
Q: BTW folks ... What program are you guys using for Reading these temperatures ... is there a "Freeware" that does that monitoring???
I think you guys gave me enough info to make a decision ...
Thanks,
G! -
HD tune for HD
RMclock for CPU
Riva tuner for gpu -
Just for exact numbers, I have yet clean out my vents, but:
CPU: Down ~7 degrees
GPU: Down ~3 degrees idle, about ~9-12 degrees load
HDD: Down 12 degrees
Performance from this thing is great, you won't regret it.
