The vespula is great, but was waaaay overpriced here where I live :(

I ended up going with a Razer Goliathus (fragged).
Cheap soft mat, great performance I find it works really well, and the mouse glides much more smoothly and effortlessly compared to my old one. The best part is that it comes in a size that's actually smaller than a dinner plate :p :p since there are multiple sizes available. I wanted the middle sized one but it wasn't available, so I went with the space saver
It's in my dp, but it doesn't look too good due to the small picture size/ bad light. I can post another one here if you want
My desk is somewhat cramped so its perfect, its also easy to transport
You can choose to get either the speed or control surface

    Hope this helps

PS - there are 2 links up there, one for the standard goliathus and one for the fragged edition which I have

Steel Series QcK Mini Mousepad costs $7 in the US. If you can find them in your location, they should be pretty cheap.

    I have these two:
Used to play a lot of games and some i used to prefer using the mx510 on a big soft mousemat, i now have it as more of a desk/keyboard mat and can rest my arm on it because the table is pretty hard haha, it's huge :):
    SteelPad QcK+ Mouse Pad - 63003SS

And this one is good for my lachesis.. I like the aluminium feel it's extremely smooth and accurate for gaming too.. although i haven't used it for that for a long time now.

hey i had 2 quick questions about the vespula. i have the razer exactmat + exactpad and was wonderin if the vespula is it's replacement. 2nd thing was that on my exactmat + pad, the gel wrist support was a seperate piece that u could remove so it doesn't get in yur way when u game. i was wondering if the vespula had the same design or if the gel wrist support and pad were one piece now. thanks.

I use a Func1030 mouse pad. Have had it for years and it's still going strong. If you want a slightly larger version of this pad, you can opt for the Archetype which is also quite nice.

I still prefer a cheap 2€ mush mousepad pad which has a thin textile surface which is perfect for both scrolling aswell as lazer mouses.

Yes, and yes. Razer took the eXactMat off their online store the same day they put up the Vespula, and the gel wristpad is a separate piece.

The only real difference between the eXactMat and Vespula is that the eXactMat is aluminum and the Vespula is plastic. Other than that, same basic concept. Speed + Control sides, removable wristpad and so on. I have both and they're both good. I tend to take the Vespula with me for my Orochi since the plastic is significantly lighter.

    thanks, shrooms.

i was considering upgrading my exactmat/pad to a vespule cuz it looks pretty dang sharp. i guess i won't though cuz i prefer the aluminum construction of the exactpad/mat. it can always double as a shuriken in case of a home invasion. :p

I think it loses its shuriken status when it becomes large enough to decapitate with. :p

I'm on Razer Destructor, and I gotta say it's a big improvement over the soft mats. One big bonus was that it does not get dirty, all my soft mats I ever had were always getting dirty from wrist and it looked horrible. The tracking is very nice and I would buy another one if this ever gets destroyed, not sure if it's possible to destroy this anyway.
