The right mouse button are starting to become unreliable for gaming, so it it time to look for a replacement. Should I just get another of the same or upgrade? I do want my forward & backward buttons for web browsing. I do use the scroll wheel.

You can reassign the dpi buttons of the MX518. Just buy another MX518 or a G500.

The dual action scroll wheel is pretty nifty, and the ability to visually identify what dpi setting you are at is pretty cool too. The adjustable weights actually work too.

No, they're the same for that, unless you think 1800dpi is not enough. (it is enough)

mx518 is still one of best regarded mouse in the market, with a great optical sensor, for the price i dont think you can beat it.

Try out a Razer DeathAdder. It will be reasonably familiar to you, as a right-handed design with two thumb buttons and an optical sensor.

If you want to stick to the same shape, then I would recommend either another MX518, or an upgrade to the G500.
