I need to hook up my midi controller to my laptop. What can I use to do this? I have seen USB-to-MIDI, but is that quick and responsive? Any opinions or experiences anyone? Thanks

I have the Yamaha S90 Synth and I use a USB cable to hook up to my IBM T42 to do sequencing. Since the sounds are created in the module inside the S90, it doesn't slow down my laptop much.

I will be using Reason for my instruments. So if I were using that software would there be a delay, do you think?
