I've read dozens of solutions to this problem which all blame the internal power jack as the problem, but when I take the power cord from my docking station and plug it directly into the notebook, I have a good connection, and the power cord I was using directly in the notebook doesn't make a good connection with the docking station. Hence, it appears that plug on the power cord is worn down. Any solutions for this problem? It's an HP Pavillion dv6700 if it makes a difference. Thanks.

Get a new docking station, or dont use the docking station if you have a good power connection without it.

Thanks, DboogieC, but you caused me to realize that I never described my problem, which is the connection with the power cord that I've been using directly for a couple of years. Docking station is fine, and the point was that the power cord into the docking station, which is almost never removed, also works when used directly into the notebook. Thus, it appears that the plug on the power cord which I've been using for the direct connection is worn from the repeated removal, reinsertion and other abuses which such connections endure. Probably just need to buy a new power cord?
