My brother is selling me his logitech keyboard with the MX600 mouse. However, I am not sure if i really want a wireless keyboard and mouse. I already have an MX518 which i enjoy. What are the advantages of a wireless and non wireless keyboard? I have 2 out of 4 USB ports that are always occupied for the mouse and my cooler.

Also, is there any external keyboard that i can put over the laptop keyboards? I feel if i use an external keyboard I would have a hard time viewing the screen at a distance. And if i do want to get an external keyboard, do all have like a receiver? My brother has one that is a receiver and is wired to be plugged into the USB Port. Is there a receiver that has no wires in which u can plug into the USB port? I feel I have a lot of cords at my desk.

Perhaps a Bluetooth setup would work for you?

I generally go with cheap, $30 basic keyboards for my notebooks. Unless there's a feature that you must have on a particular model, I feel they're all basically the same.

I prefer wired because you don't need batteries.

The coolest keyboard I have ever owned is the Saitek PZ30AU. It looks very sleek, it's very solid and it has an adjustable backlight feature that makes it a dream to use in low light conditions.
