Well, I've decided that I'd like to have a separate mouse for my laptop, instead of using the track pad. I really don't plan on taking this mouse everywhere, as I am accustomed to using the track pad, and I really don't have a problem with it. I'm just looking for something comfortable and fairly cheap to get the job done. This would be for at home use, with rare need for portability. Size isn't really an issue. This being said, I really don't mind if it is wired or not, but I prefer it not be. Bluetooth mice are also a no go, as I don't have bluetooth in my laptop, and don't intend on buying a receiver. I just want something that can be used with general computing. Gaming capabilities are not required. I'm looking to keep this under $30, but the cheaper the better. Any ideas on a good, durable mouse? Anything around this price point that is also rechargeable?

Targets have the Microsoft Notebook 3000 on clearance for $5 and Best Buy currently has the Logitech M305 for $15 out the door. Both are not available or sold out online but you should be able to find the Logitechs in store. Both are great mice.

The batteries in these things last 6+ months with regular use. I only prefer rechargeable on my desktop with it has a dock.

I definitely vouch for the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer. Top-notch.
