I recently bought one of these for my notebook for $5 + $2 postage on eBay brand new which I thought was really cheap. Anyway, before that I always used a stock Asus notebook mouse and with that when I pushed the middle button it would bring up a little circle which allows me to move my mouse up and down and the page would move accordingly, I sometimes use this instead of scrolling. Also with the middle button, when I press it on a tab or link in Firefox it would open a new tab for me.

Now with my MX310 I found the option to turn 'autoscroll' on with my middle mouse button but scrolling in autoscrolling and scrolling in general doesn't work. I also can't seem to make it open new tabs with a middle click, does anyone know why or how I can make it do so? or the mouse just doesn't support it?

It seems like the middle button doesn't work at all.

Edit: Seems like it scrolls now and the 'autoscroll' feature works too, just can't get it to open new tabs in Firefox.

    Thanks.

Yeah, the CD came with it. I installed the drivers and in control panel -> mouse it allows me to map the keys and the functions to each key - yet I haven't found a function for my middle button to be able to perform that task in firefox, of opening links in new tabs, and to be able to scroll up and down by pressing down.

You don't have to change anything in FireFox as far as I know. As long as the middle button's set to autoscroll or whatever it's called when pressed, it should work fine in FF to open/close Tabs. Hopefully some1 can shed some light.

Just set the scroll wheel to act as a regular middle mouse button when depressed. Selecting 'autoscroll' gives it a custom functionality that doesn't work with FireFox the way you want it to work.

That's what it was originally set as, it doesn't seem to work. Autoscrolling doesn't work either. :(
