    I am looking for:
-a Laser printer, preferably all in one, that is not disgusting looking
-has decent print times (about 28+ ppm)
    -black and white printing
-one that doesnt take 5 minutes for the printer to "heat up" for me to print

Thanks for the help. Ill spend anything ~$150 to $250.

Are you convinced you need a color one? They generally are more expensive, slower and need a new (set of) cartridge(s) sooner. If color is NOT a requirement, I suggest Canon D480, which can be had for a little north of $100 when Canon runs their $150 rebate (which they seem to do at least once a quarter). Brother also has some nice models, esp. if you want wireless.

I know Canon D480 gets the first page out very quickly (I own it), but if you don't need a mutlifunction ... that's not an are I've looked into all that much. I believe there are cheaper brothers (2040, 2070 series including those w/ duplex and wireless) which are generally considered ok .. but I cannot comment on the details such as time to the 1st page.

I don't think any modern laser printers take 5 minutes to heat up. I leave our two on all the time. But even from cold, it is more like 30 seconds absolute maximum. One is a Brother HL-2270 and the other is a Samsung ML-1665. Both are a dream. Honestly the slowest part is the wireless.

I agree with this. I have not seen any Laser printers in recent memory that take more than a few seconds to wake up. Other than that, no matter what you do, don't buy an HP product. It's a shame, their hardware is typically very good, but their software and drivers are among the very worst on the planet (to the point that you may have to reinstall your OS if someting goes wrong), and they have support to match...
