I have a dell laptop and I would like to connect it to my dell t.v. in order to view direct tv online on my television. Yes, it is for NFL network and the BIG TEN since cable won't carry them. What cables do I need to do this. I have 1080i, hdtv.

What model laptop do you have? DVI is probably your best bet, but if you don't have a DVI port you'll have to settle for s-video.

I have the Dell Inspiron Notebook. I know there is the s-video cable. What is the DVI?

if you have an inspiron then you have s-video and probably vga, in which case you'd want to go with vga. you definitely don't have dvi, so dont worry about it.

The 17inchers do have DVI. Anything else has just VGA.
