    Hey there everyone. I'm going off to college this fall, this time living on the campus in a dorm. Currently, I am in possession of a Lenovo Ideapad y470, and while it satisfies my needs (That is. . .until I saw a 1080p matte screen), I've been looking at all the new stuff. According to this thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/msi/674724-msi-gt60-70-gtx-680m-optimus.html, the MSI GT60 will come with a GTX 680M. Now, if this turns out to not be true and only for the MSI GT70, I'll go for the Sager Np9150 with the 7970M. Provided I have the money for either, I'll get it around black friday/christmas.

    Now, as far as laptop backpacks go, I was looking at the Targus CityGear Commuter Targus CityGear 16" Commuter Backpack - eBags.com
    It seems to be pretty nice, but I was wondering would it be able to fit either laptop? I know it'll fit my Lenovo, as I put it in one of these at a nearby Best Buy. What I want to know is if there is anything better that's of a similar price? My budget is about $100 and I'll need to carry around. . .2-3 textbooks, 4 notebooks, a folder (Maybe a binder instead) the laptop, charger, and my logitech lapdesk n315. Is there anything better than the Targus backpack under $100? Thanks for the help!

    I requested this on another thread also just simply because it is the best backpack I have ever owned. The Timbuk2 H.A.L. it'll fit a 17 incher easy and it has a dedicated laptop compartment rather than a sleeve.

    It is very durable and comfortable and also has tons of storage. Seriously consider it it's on sale for $69.99 which I think is a steal.

    Wouldn't that be a bit too big for either laptop? Well, actually the MSI is kinda bulky, though not as big as the Asus G55. I'll definitely consider it. Any other options?

    Yanm,

    I'm in a similar situation; I recently purchased the 17.3" version of that (NP9170) and I'm having trouble finding a decent messenger bag. I will give you a few links to decent places I've been looking to find one;

    Shop for a Messenger Bag, Backpack, Tote Bag, iPad Sleeve, Kindle Sleeve, Laptop Bag, Pannier Bag, Camera Bag, Diaper Bag, Customize a Bag, Timbuktu or Create a Custom Bag Made In the Mission District, San Francisco - Timbuk2 Bags
    Oakley Mens Sunglasses, Watches, and Clothing
    Samsonite

    However for you looking for a backpack maybe check this one;

    Oakley Echo Charlie Pack 2.0 | Oakley Store

    Its in your price range, fits up to 17" laptop, looks nice however I haven't owned it so may want to dig up some reviews. GL!

    I've been taking a look at backpacks on ebags and out of the ones there, this one draws my attention the most: Targus CityGear Notebook Backpack - eBags.com I love all the extra slots it has, and I like the look as well. Would you guys recommend I go with this one or is there any other backpacks I should look at instead of the Targus?

    It really does not seem big at all while you're wearing it or carrying it around.

    In response to the Timbuk2 H.A.L. Backpack, it'll fit the Sager, but the MSI is apparently too big, according to the website when I put in the size dimensions. I like the features it has, but provided MSI does release the GT60 with the GTX 680M, I'll probably get that, so I'm leaning more towards the Targus XL 17 inch CityGear at this point.
