Just picked up a pair of these from Best Buy and OMG... amazing! The sound is just... beautiful.

I found out that they re-did the electronics on them since there were a lot of issues with the amps frying. No more power switch either which is bizzare. Anyone who is in the market for some 2.1s, these are the ones to pick up!

I always liked the Klipsch Pro Media's both the 2.1 and 5.1 probably among the best you can get for computer speakers.

I use Klipsch Quintet III's and a Sub 10 as my speakers now as I prefer to have no ties to a built in amp and the ability to change/upgrade speakers.

Cost more but its worth it, and they are above the quality found in any computer speaker set.

I picked up mine about a month ago from BB. I looked for the switch too. :p I wish the sound was a bit warmer, but great for games and Blu-ray movies.

I have 2 pairs of Promedia 2.1's and a pair of promedia 2.0's, and I just had one of the control pods for the 2.1's die on me. Klipsch doesn't have the best build quality, but their sound quality is very good.

The only problem that I have with the Promedia 2.1's is that they are WAY too powerful; with my system volume at 15% I can only turn the speakers up to about 1/4 of their full volume before they become too loud. I don't know who thought up 200 watt computer speakers (with the sub drawing up to 130 watts), but he was insane.

Treat them like the $200 speakers they are, and they'll treat you well. :) When not using the ProMedia's I've read it's best they're off, and be careful with the switches and such.

The main issues I have had with them is that the control knobs are prone to getting dust in them, which results in sound issues at low volumes. The knobs also have a fair amount of lateral play that one would not expect is such expensive speakers. The audio in port on both of my subwoofers always had a little play in it as well, so the cable could be moved around when still plugged in a fair amount.

Overall though, the issues don't make them bad speakers at all; its just something that people should be aware of.

I agree, they are WAY loud and the sound stays crisp even at loud volumes. The max I even go at is 50%, anything over that will shatter my glass table haha.

I use canned air for dusting to make sure no dust get in places its not suppose to be in. The new ProMedias don't have an on/off switch so I have them plugged in a Surge Strip which I turn off when I go to bed after shutting down my comp.
