You guys were helpful when I bought my gaming mouse a while ago (Logitech MX518). Now that I have the cash I have decided I should buy a keyboard to go with it. Main reason is to preserve my notebooks keyboard as well as my hands.

Although I love the look of the Logitech G15, I just don't have the desk space for something that massive. Therefore it is going to have to be fairly compact.

I owned a Microsoft wireless desktop 4000, that was completely useless. Unfortunately it was my parents who brought and subsequently they wasted NZ$160, especially with it having no resell value. You can pretty much rule out Microsoft becuasae of how disappointment I was with that set.

-Budget wise I can go up to say NZ$80. I live in New Zealand, so my budget is perhaps more around the US$40 mark.
-It will be used for gaming and university work.
    -Can't be overly large.
-Needs to be good to type on, the more comfortable the better.
-I would prefer to have a cord, that Microsoft thing gave me little faith in wireless.

I use the Saitek Gamers keyboard & MX518 they are a perfect combo. This keyboard is years old and still works like new and has the best key feedback ever.

The programmability game pad and back light and stuff while great are just extras with how good the keyboard is on its own.
