What are the best high quality attachable/detachable microphones out there for headsets? So far the only mic that was recommended to me was the Zalman ZM-Mic1.

That's pretty much the only one unless you go DIY. It's why everyone recommends it.

Why don´t you go with a headset?

If you take IEMs and a microphone you will get much better sound from some good IEMs - the same is true for good headphones.

Headsets are made for talking - headphones/IEMs for music (which often contains some sort of vocal content -I know, not all music ;) :))
Thus any headphone/IEM already needs to do more than a headset.

With headphones you want a soundstage - on a headset (except maybe gamers) you don't care.
