After trying on multiple headsets at Best Buy, the only ones I was really amazed by were the QuietComfort 15 by Bose. However I, A) need an integrated mic for gaming (I don't do clip-ons, keep the wires to a minimum), and B) don't want to spend more than $100 on a wired headset. I prefer closed ear or at least semi-closed ear and my ears are very non-audiophile quality, and since I'm using a pair of iPhone earbuds right now (gaming while traveling), almost anything will sound top notch to me.

I know the Steelseries Siberia V2 have been on sale for about $40 all over the net and one thing I read on every user review is that they are uber comfortable to the point you forget they are on.

I picked up a pair and plan to review them soon, I will let you know if they fit the bill.

I've wanted to like the 7H or 5H because they look normal (non-gaming) and can be taken apart for portability, however they don't seem to have near of the consistent great reviews that the Siberia V2 has been getting. If someone can tell me the earpads feel like the Bose (which I honestly could say I would probably forget I was wearing them), I'd pick up the Siberia in a heartbeat :)

If we're talking closed, the closest you'll get is probably a Bose AE2 with a Zalman, as half-baked as that solution might be. The AE2 isn't my favourite headphone for sound - it has a really strident treble for one - but these can be EQ'd out and the underlying audio performance isn't terrible. But comfort-wise for a closed phone, I find Bose nails it with their circumaurals and no-one else has come close.

Unfortunately I want to keep it under the $100 mark and I need the built in mic :-/. It's crazy how comfortable their headphones are, even the aviation headsets feel like nothing is there.
