... Walmart only at walmart :p

Actually there is a good chance he already has some headphones right?

The Zalman Mic1 is your best bet by a long shot: http://www.xoxide.com/zmmic1.html

This is quality product, people will hear him loud and clear instead of having the garbage that will come out of some budget item.

Just pair this with any headphones you already have, or get a cheap pair.

Headsets cost more than headphones and generally the quality of speakers is lower for the same price range, so this is the optimal solution and he can upgrade the cans at a later date and just keep the microphone.

What do you think of Plantronics Audio 350?
It is selling at $22 on amazon and I have been using it for about 2 years
in my opinion it gives good qualities on both speaker and mic that are well beyond its price

do you think this is a good suggestion?

I like plantronics products. I had the DSP500 for about 2 years and it had absolutely great quality for mic & sound. It was like $50 when I got it but now that they are no longer produced they were like $10 in there hidden clearance store.

Im not a huge fan of the new audio build/style but for the money the plantronics stuff cant be beat.

    Id go here: http://www.plantronics.com/north_america/en_US/products/clearance/computer-clearance

and grab the Audio 90's for $10

Id say the Audio 90 is about twice as nice as the 350, and looks better. Plus its half the price just because its discontinued.

Plantroincs sells there old stuff CHEAP, pricegrabber or froogle has people selling them for $20-30ish still, while the 350's go for $10ish in some places.
