My Toshiba has a built in mic that i have been using for my games but since i have the edge to edge class, it sounds like Im talking through a fishbowl. It works for the everyday task here or there but I was wondering what other headsets or stand up microphones that are on the market at the moment. I've been looking around but no luck so I figured I'd ask the forums! You guys seem to have more answers than everywhere else I look.

Anyway. I'm looking for either a bluetooth or wireless USB headset or standup mic.. if they exist. haha. No price-range. No specific brand. Just wanna know what is recommended! Thank you!

If you really want top-notch audiophile quality, then you should go with some high end headphones and a desktop or clip-on mic. Otherwise, I would recommend a good headset like the Plantronics GameCom 377 or something.

If you want the most intelligible audio when you speak, best to have it on the set, and not in the form of a clip-on.

Creative are supposed to have a couple of wireless sets out, I can't find them though. There's a WOW edition which was announced last month. http://asia.cnet.com/blogs/geekonomics/post.htm?id=63013149

But you're most likely to get your money's worth with a wired headset at this time. I would avoid desktop mics because the ones most people buy just don't work all that well, and will result in the same 'out of fishbowl' sounds.

The Sennheiser PC350 (~$180) is a well-reviewed headset with a good mic. I don't have a lot of experience with this, but reviews are generally good.

I also like the Beyerdynamic MMX 2 (~$80), which is based on one of my favourite sub-$100 headphones, the DT 231 and also packs a definitely Skype-worthy mic. Apart from a potential comfort issue (the earcups are quite small so depending on the size of your ears it might end up sitting on your ear cartilage) I think it's a good deal if you don't mind your sets a little quaint-looking.

Apart from that, there's any number of ways you could go depending on your priorities.

How much money would you like to spend? The Plantronics GameCom 377 is around 60$ if I'm not mistaken and it's worth every penny.
