Hi. I figured this question may better fit this section. (I have deleted the content of the original post in the other section)
I'm considering buying the older model HP Notebook Quickdock (ES631AA) because it has an S-Video port while the new one does not. However, the compatibility says that it has reduced functionality "when using notebook that requires included expansion accessory adapter". I'm assuming this means that it doesn't work right if you have expansion port 2 instead of expansion port 3. My notebook (dv9700t) has expansion port 3.
I was hoping that someone could confirm it's compatibility with a dv9000 series or with any notebook with expansion port 3. I would also like it if someone could confirm the functionality of the s-video port on this quickdock.
Thanks.

Yes its fully compatible with the dv2000/6000/9000 series.. all the ports will work fine..
If your notebook has an expansion port 2 like an older compaq M2000 it will have reduced functionality. -
Cool! Thank you. I'll go ahead and order it then.
I guess I just wanted to hear it from somebody else first
