I want some recommendation of speakers from $30-70.

This would be for laptop(obviously, lol) so ideally I would like them to be fairly moveable. But quality is the first concern.

These Logitech V20's are pretty nice for your price range. They're large but light so you can carry them around.

The Logitech Z2300 and X-530 are worth considering.

I got my Creative L3800 system at Circuitcity for $50, that was a year ago though and it was a sale. Might want to see what goes on sale for back to school.

Not much in that price range that's going to sound very good. Just pick something that looks nice and is the right size for your setting.

I got my Logitech X-230 for $30 + $15 shipping. Not too bad. They get really good reviews, and people say that they are comparable to middle-high end speakers. (Mine are coming next week, so I can't testify.)

I have the x230's and they're very good for the price. Surprisingly good bass too. I'll be bringing them with me to college in the dorm.

I have the X230s on the Admirals desktop. Sound okay for the price, but definitely not portable. I have X540s on my desktop and not bad for a 5.1 for the price.

I have the Z4 as a base station on my laptop and they sound incredible, especially since they were mis-marked at Office Max for $40. For portable use with my laptop, I use the V20s. No, they do not sound like a $500 system. They don't even sound as good as the X230. But do they sound acceptably good at moderate volume for a totally portable system powered from the USB port??? Quite definitely. Am I happy I have them? Yes. They are really a decent and totally portable solution.

LOL... u can't carry those around, it's ridiculously heavy (the one which can actually beat it is it's big brother, the Z-5500).

But still depends on which degree of movable u need... if to a friends house or another place, the Z-2300 is not what u want, if it is moving at home, u can consider it. But i dun think u can get it for $70

The Z-2300s will run you at least $100 unless you find a used set on eBay.

I'd put another vote in for X-230s...unless you can just find a cheap set on sale in the Sunday ads. I think Circuit City has the Z-4s for $50 this week (includes a mail-in).

I also have the x-230's and they sound great for the price, very deep base.

Watch newegg because they occasionally have the x-230's with free shipping.

I got the X-230s, and I loved them. They were really nice during the day, but at night the people in the dormroom under me would complain about the bass :(

Bose Companion II. they are around $90USD and sound outrageously good. 2.0 setup and put out bass u wouldnt believe. but if u turn em up too loud they start to distort. but if u looking for something in a workplace or just in dorm where u dont need to turn em up loud. they are the best quality for the size. :D

Similar to the Bose, I'm considering the Klipsch Promedia 2.0, has a control knob for the bass.

HOLY CRAP. My X-230s arrived today, and I'm listening to them right now. They are surprisingly good. I put some screws in my wall, and hooked them up there. The bass is amazing. It's all-around goodness, except for the fact that I have to put the plug under my notebook because the jack is on the front :\
