I'm having a bit of a dilemma, considering the latest version of San Andreas Advanced Control is incompatible with Vista, and other such programs are proving equally problematic, or much too complicated for my liking.

Can anyone suggest a possible alternative, so I can play San Andreas using my gamepad with a similar configuration to the PS2 version? I've tried the likes of Xpadder and Pinnacle, but to no avail.

    It's a Saitek P380 Dual Analog Pad.

Well, when I had my old pad, I just used Xpadder, it might take some time to set up but it worked with all the games I tried, and had a lot of customization.
It also works in vista IIRC

You should give it a try

I mean not to insult, but if you had read my initial post carefully, you would have seen that I have already tried Xpadder. There are few known profiles for the likes of San Andreas, and most favour the Xbox 360 controller it seems.

I DID read your initial post, but you were very vague as to issues with porgrmas you used.

When I referred to Xpadder, I meant creating a custom profile in which you choose what each button does, and one that is specific to your controller.

If you need help with creating your own custom profiles, I can link you some great guides for Xpadder that cover everything

    Just say the word ;)

I'd much prefer if you found a profile specifically for San Andreas, that supports a Dual Analog gamepad which resembles the typical PlayStation controller.

    If you can't find it, I don't think I could :p

I really suggest that you create your own.

Find a walkthrough on a game site, that has the PS2 controls, use those to help you assign the same actions to your gamepad.
It may take time but it's the only solution I can think of ATM
