    I am trying to find a sound card with optical and converting it to a 5.1 surround sound. Has anyone tried this solution.

    are you trying to get an optical out which converts normal 5.1 into 5.1 optical? or are you trying to get something that has an optical in and covert that into standard 5.1 analog audio? im not to sure what your trying to accomplish with what you posted but if you can explain in a more detailed manner ill see if i can help. :D
