I am about to receive my ASUS z70va any day now (yay!!!!)

I went to get an external widescreen flat top monitor that I can also use sort of as a substitute for a widescreen display because it will be a few months before i have time (and money to figure out what I want to get.

I didn't want to spend too much money because I do expect ultimately to use it just for a larger external display when I am working at home... but I do want it to be good... if the quality worth the extra dollars I'll spend it.

    SO my questions are:

    1. What is the largest widescreen display that one can comfortably use as a computer monitor. I am a little concerned that if I am up close it will be "too big."

    2. anyone have brand and/or model to recommend?

Someone I was chatting with says that Sharp is always the best.. but I haven't been seeing them mentioned when I look around. But I have been looking mostly at circuit city and Amazon because they have customer reviews.

I've read lots of excellent reviews of Dell monitors, and own one myself. If you like that model, my suggestion would be to buy it.

I don't think the 20" model will be "too big" for you unless you have a vision problem of some sort.

I have that Dell 20" widescreen monitor. its really beautiful! It has DVI input also and supports 1600x1050 resolution. Sometimes u can get new ones on ebay for $350+shipping....see if someone in ur neighborhood is selling (sort by distance- nearest first) and offers local pick-up! Nothing like it!

I thot (and still sometimes think) its a lil too big that close but I need to have the latest and gr8est stuff that i can afford! this fits the bill!
