Has anyone attempted using ExpressCard Audio, like this?:
Creative X-Fi Notebook
Or perhaps when this one is released (???) <--- not on Creative's website!
Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio
If so... is there any significant merit to it?
I'm also curious if a program like Tunebite will work with these as it does not work with the Sigmatel chips.

I'e got an X-Fi go - that a tiny USB soundcard - it definitely beats the internal card - you get better audio, and generally loude audio too (max volume that is).
About your programme - sorry I can't help.
But you'll definitely be better off with an expresscard one or PCMIA one than a USB one if you want to do something serious with it. -
I'd highly suggest the Echo Indigo Express Card for a sound card. I use Echo for all my PC audio needs and I'll never use anything less. And I have found that firewire is best for sound, better than usb or pcmia or express. Maybe its just that the best components are built for firewire.
Express Card Audio...
