    This is the best forum I could think of to post this in. I went to the digitalcamerareviewspot site or what not, but i dont think they have forums! so hopefully someone can help me out here.

    I was just wondering if the SanDisk SD Cards are reliable, or the Lexar ones. They seem to be priced quite well compared to Kodak ones. I have a Kodak camera and wnated to keep everything kodak, but sandisk and lexar seem to have some good prices on their 512 sd cards!

    Any input or advice?

    They are both Name brands so they should be fine for any use, even camera

    Yeah, we don't have forums there yet, as the site is still quite small. If we find some poeple that want to help drive the growth of forums for that site, then we'll get them rolling sooner than later.

    Anyway, what you need to know is that there are very few companies that make flash RAM, it's just rebranded by the reseller. Both Sandisk and Lexar are fine, go with what's cheaper, which is generally Sandisk.

    KingMax makes a 60x SD version. Priced high, but it's fast!

    Sandisk has had a bad rap in teh past, but I've found them to be perfectly fine over the past 12-18 months. I'm not stating this as fact, just personal experience. If there is evidence to the contrary, let me know.

    I agree with Brian. I've been using SanDisk and Lexar brands (CF and SD cards) for years in both my PDAs and cameras. I have not encountered any problems with either. No lost data, or pictures.

    I've also hung out at dpreview.com for a few years, excellent forums and quality info.

    Sandisk cards are also pretty slow. As Brian pointed out, this may be different now. As Bootleg does, I use Transcend - a great, fast, reliable card for relatively the same price as Lexar & Sandisk.

    Speed may not matter much if you have a fairly simple point & shoot though.
