    Hey!

I saw a few technicians who had nice screw drivers(magnetic). I got myself one, but it's not really good one(the movable parts are being destroyed slowly) so I got a question for you - which magnetic screw driver(with those small parts which actually screw screws, no idea what they're called in English) would you recommend? Also, I saw a nice `stick` which was used to open Xbox latches(this one had hooks), and a some kind of ebony stick to open latches from notebook(it was just a stick, but made from some nice material which didn't scratch computer when openin latches). Does anyone have any idea of such tools with good quality? :)

    Yours,
    Magic

The drivers (tips) will get worn over time if they are of low quality (softer) steel.

Generally, you get what you pay for, so don't expect great things from a $5 kit...

just search "precision screwdriver set" and buy from wherever you like to shop. I have decent 12 piece set I got a sears. One of these days I would like to get a really nice more expensive jewelers set. If you have a really small file you can clean up the ends of the screwdriver when it gets worn.

also for what its worth, you can magnetize screwdrivers yourself using a magnet. I use a strong neodymium magnet I got out of a broken hard drive.

My laptop screwdriver of choice is a Husky HD-74501 Z it's an 8 in 1 that you can grab from home depot for 12 . I find the tips to be very precise and never stripped a screw with it. Having the rotating cap on the top is great for turning the driver while keeping it stable with your palm. The tip is non magnetic so you'd have to magnetize it yourself if you prefer. Husky makes a torx verison too which I have. Nothing beats carrying around 2 drivers instead of a set 16 in your repair bag.

I bought this set in the UK, it cost about £8 from a store called Lidl

It has a bit, for just about any screw head type.

I use this precision screwdriver kit

The plastic box holding the screwdriver+bits is complete garbage (the latch broke after 5 uses LOL), but the actual screwdriver and bits are very well made. Tips are magnetized, and the screwdriver rotates freely. I've been using the PZ0 bit basically everyday, and it's shown little sign of wear.

wiha makes some nice ones. as for magnetic, just keep a small neodymium magnet handy. As for longevity, right fit will ensure that you have more life out of your tips.

As for my carry everywhere drivers, I use this :-
