I've been searching, but can't seem to find a medium sized backpack for a 13" lappy and have a nice sized insulated compartment for food, beverages and an ice pack.

    Any suggestions?

is there a particular bag you're thinking of that has an insulated food compartment? I've never heard of that before.

    :p

Why not just put the insulated bag for the food in the main compartment?

My Under Armor backpack has an insulated food compartment but it is way too small. I am willing to spend up to $150 for a quality bag that serves my purpose.

I take a lunch to work every day in this which I put my wallet, keys, phone, sunglasses, etc. in the top compartment and my lunch in the bottom. I am looking to fit a Lenovo X220 with my lunch and personal items all in one bag.

    That's a possibility.

I doubt someone makes one, but I have a few ideas...

They make 'cooler' backpacks, a little modification and you could fit it in a decent backpack with a laptop sleeve...

    Or

They make a pick-nick backpack with 2 large pouches I insulated 1 not, if you had a neoprene/similar sleeve for the laptop...

    or...

    or...

I bought a Dakine Campus 33L or something similar from zappos. It was a nice bag but too small for me. It has a cooler compartment. Check it out.
