for 200 dollars you can get the astros and for around 120 dollars you can get the G35. for anyone who has tried both or knows a decent amount about headsets what would you recommend i love HiFi sound but also like to have money haha.

I just didnt know if the astros were all hype or are they as great as everyone says they are cause for almost 100 dollars more they better dance for me!

I have Astro A40s and they are without a doubt the best quality product I have owned in a long time. They have one serious flaw, sound quality. They just don't sound like a ~$200 headset should. The surround sound works great, but bass is seriously lacking and the quality is just "meh." IMO they're only great for console gamers. They don't dance either... :p

If you let people know what you're using the headset for, they may be able to help you better.

For the money probably the G35 is a better buy. Heck they were on sale for $75 just the other day (maybe still are)

Astro is a Boutique like Razer, they will increase the price of any given product just because it is branded with their name.

    So $200 Astro headphones = $100 headphones

If your really serious about quality though going for good branded headphones (Audio Technica, Senheiser, Ultrasone, Beyer Dynamic, Etc) and then getting a external microphone is the way to go. You wont have to spend more to get more because you wont be paying extra for the convenience that is a "headset" and you will open up hundreds of new choices for headphones.

Here is the ones I have/use:

    Microphone Review / Comparison: Blue Yeti - Zalman ZM-Mic1 - Logitech G930 - Altec Lansing AHS433 - YouTube

I just bought a $20 mic stand for my Yeti and now its even better, feels like a recording studio @ at my desk :D and fixed the few negative issues I had with the yeti.

(no longer in my way for viewing all monitors, no longer picks up much background noise since I was able to turn the gain down, no longer picks up desk vibrations)

A popular mic for people that do a lot of voice work is still the Blue Snowball as well, I do not have one of those but thats what Day 9 uses and a few other big casters.

Id go with the Audio Technica M50's because they are well known, sound good, inexpensive, wont need an amp, and also fold up for travel making it good for laptop use.

Amazon.com: Customer Reviews: Audio Technica Pro Studio Monitor Headphones

For a mic, just get the cheap Zalman clip on for now, and then later on step up to a better mic if you need higher quality for something.

If your limiting yourself to those two, the A40's are way better than the G35's (I have both).

any headphones from ultra or ATH or any makers that is noise cancelling and is "surround Sound"?

i currently have the razer characias and I want a headphone with performance i can hear i dont know alot about audio equipment all i know is what sounds good and what dosent i am willing to spend up to 250 on a pair of headphones so that might limit me and hey surround sound (for gaming) and noise cancelling isent a must but it would be nice to have!

Well i think i have broke it down to two that i like the ATH A700 and the sennheiser HD 598 anyone can push me one way or another?

Surround Sound is a gimmick. A700 are good I own them. Both M50 and A700 should have pretty good noise block out.
