    Anyone try modding macally tunefan?

    I have one of these. The fan cools really well and the speakers are great. I don't see any obvious ways to take apart the cooler. I think the cooler would look really awesome with a red light instead of blue

    That's an awful lot of money for something with a single fan and no built-in USB hub. For less money you can buy a cooler that's more conducive to modding along with and a decent set of external speakers.

    Not relevant in this case as the OP already have the device.

    OP: try looking under the "feet", there are probably a number of screws there. The opening in the plastic in the front could be for a snap lock (don't know the proper term) but the ones near the fan is likely for internal strengthening or fastening the fan assembly.
    N.B. I have never seen the tunefan so this is just speculation based on hacking other devices :)

    I was able to get it for "free" using tuition money at school
