Does anyone know where I can get a sling-style back pack for my 18.4" Toshiba Qosmio? I've looked everywhere with no success. Thanks!

The biggest i've seen are slings for 17" MBP by incase. If I'm lugging an 18.4 qosmio I think my shoulders would be dying for a backpack.

i use to own a 18.4 acer and carrying is no joke. Sling will only make it worst, ur sling might tear due to the weight of the monster. do take note!

what a bunch of whimps.... for the guys and girls who workout in a gym a few times a week, you wont even hardly feel a 18incher while carrying it around... if your a couch potatoe with your gut hanging down below your pelvis or you weight 110 pounds soakin wet with your clothes on... then ya i can see 18inch lappy being a heavy beast.....

for a real man, anything under 20 pounds is light haha.
im sure u will find a sling somewhere, theres gotta be one out there. What about those Slappa bags? there pretty huge buy pricey.

i think that one looks pretty sweet, its huge too, u should email them for specs... it might fit if you read at the bottom of the page they say some customers can fit there 18 inch lappys in it. they are built like tanks too. so for whimp above who said they will break,,, this one is tough dude... you should be alright with it,, i think its big enough to hold 2 or 3 lappys maybe. so they say in one review.

if you go to the bottom of that page a guy in a review says

    perfect
    Fits my 18.4 inch laptop like a glove...perfect.Chris D.

Be logical though he's not just going to be carrying his laptop. His laptop/charge combo is almost 20lbs most likely. It gets uncomfortable no matter how "strong" you are. I find it rude that you call people who are trying to help "wimps" but whatever makes you happy. I'm 6'1 185 and can bench a good amount more than my weight and it was uncomfortable carrying my DV9000 to school all day in my incase with my books included. Back to the OP the unfortunate thing with slings is they only work one way. So when it does get uncomfortable, which it will, you can't switch shoulders. If your dead set on a single strap solution than yes look into slappa also I think timbuk2 and chromebags have large messengers that may do the trick, and at least you can switch shoulders.

I couldn't agree more. The only thing I might add is for real women as well since I've seen more than a few women around a college campus toting quite the load of bags including one for their laptop.

In any event, now that I've had some fun, I might add that at least there are lightweight alternatives for those people who are under a 20 lb weight limit restrictions. :p

As for the bags, the only problem I keep having is that the seams don't hold up over time. Regardless of what type of bag I choose, they keep giving way. And yes, my pack weighs significantly more than 20 lbs.

Timbuk2 race stripe messenger large, it's built to carry 20"+ slim notebooks, and 18"+ average height notebooks.

Many people would actually find that very rude and offensive. I'd love to know exactly why people aren't 'real' men (or women) if they don't work out in the gym every day and/or can't effortlessly carry 20lbs on one shoulder for hours on end. I'd recommend not sounding so offensive, if you plan on staying on these forums for long.

On topic, you seriously will want a backpack for carrying around an 18", unless you're a bodybuilder who can carry a lot of weight effortlessly. I'm quite strongly built, and my Alienware M17 (weighing about 13.5lbs with the power brick as well) in my messenger bag can start to weigh down a lot on my shoulder after carrying it for a while.

There should be some 18" laptop backpacks out there that'll work well. I think Targus might make one, but not particularly sure. All you really need to do is search.

That's because you're taking the comment personally and way to seriously--and we are talking desktop replacements here. Anyway, I took it as a general statement to mean people in general don't exercise as much as they should.

Nevertheless, you're probably correct with the warning, since I've experienced the ultra politically correct nature of this website.
