Hello to all! I am searching for over a week now for a backpack for my laptop and I can't find anything decent. Let me explain myself, I want to buy a backpack that has some space (can hold 2-3 books and an exercise book) BUT ALSO is not ugly and not to look like a school bag. I found one that I liked, the Targus Spruce Ecosmart Backpack but it is not available in amazon and I don't know any other shop that sends to Europe.
I also like the Belkin Impulse Line Slim Back Pack, it is beautifull, but I don't think that it has any room at all for some books, it looks like it is a bit small. The third backpack that I found is a golla backpack, this was just perfect, pleasant to the eye and enough room for anything that you might need. The problem is that I couldn't found for a 17" laptop only for 15" and some new for 16".
The thing is that my bugdet is about 60 dollars and I can't find anythind else. I will end up buying either an ugly bag (like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Targus-XL-L...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1281951966&sr=8-1 ) or a pretty backpack with no space like the belkin.
Does anyone have any idea that could help me?

Not too thick, I suppose the one that you are proposing is pretty good, I will look it more carefully.. If anyone else has another opinion please share it!

The link in amazon for the bag that you are reviewing is this Amazon.com: Mobile Edge Alienware Orion Backpack - Notebook carrying backpack - 17.3" - black: Clothing but I believe this is not the bag but another. The bag that you are reviewing is this Amazon.com: Mobile Edge 17.3" Alienware Orion Messenger- ScanFast: Clothing
Am I correct? It looks pretty good and it has some good space. But unfortunately this bag is not shipping to my country so I must find another one. Searching the amazon I found the swissgear pegasus. Swissgear GA-7306-06F00 Pegasus 17-inch Laptop Backpack (Grey): Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo
What do you say about this? Any other suggestions?

If you were considering the Targus Spruce Ecosmart Backpack, just get the Targus XL. Both are ugly, lol. A backpack being pretty and functional? You're going to have to sacrifice something I think.

I could be wrong but I think that's roughly the same price USD. Swiss gear makes great durable products so buy what looks best.

I'm a sucker for that blue however...

I believe it is really hard to find something like that..! After searching for about one week I am a bit dissapointed, I could not find the backpack I wanted. There are two Targus XL, the US Amazon.com: Targus XL Backpack Designed for 17 Inch Notebooks TXL617 (Black with… and the EU Targus XL Laptop Backpack - Black/Blue: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo
The problem is that they are both ugly, at least the targus spruce ecosmart was very functional but not too ugly but unfortunately I can't find it anywhere to bring it to europe :(

Right now I can't decide between swissgear and orion.. Orion is obviously prettier but the only reason I will probably get the pegasus is because I can find it in europe and the shipping costs are lower (+the 20 dollars difference the bags have)

After looking more carefully the alienware in amazon I think that they have messed up with the photos! As stated above the orion is obvioulsy more good looking but not only it is more expensive than swissgear, I don't even know if it can be sent to Greece! So right know I am leaning on swissgear, except if I find a site that doesn't have extraordinary shipping costs and sends to europe!

I just saw it, it is very interesting actually, but after reading some reviews not all 17" laptops fit in it, it is more for a 15" laptop. Considering that mine is 17,3" I wouldn't dare buy it with the fear of not fitting it it!

I wanted to buy the orion but unfortunately the amazon doesn't send the bag to my country. So I will get the swissgear pegasus. Before I buy this would like someoe to confirm me that it can fit a 17,3" laptop. Does anyone has this backpack? I don't want to buy it and in the end my laptop not to fit in!

I have one more question for you. In the swissgear site it states that Pegasus fits most 17" laptops. I just saw the IBEX which states that fits all 17" laptops. My laptop dimensions are 41.5X5.5X28cm (16.3x2.2x11). Which of these two backpacks will fit my laptop for sure?

Ogio Epic, this is what I have, great quality and normal looks, nothing flashy, or there's a new one, but I'm not sure of the quality P9

I've been looking for a backpack that fits the G73JH, and went to BB to try the Swissgear IBEX but it doesn't fit. At all. Couldn't get it into the laptop sleeve and the bag wouldn't close with the laptop in the main compartment. Granted this laptop is a beast, but any laptop with similar dimensions in length will not fit. I needed at least another 2" for the bag to zip shut with the G73 in the main compartment.

Hmm, after reading some reviews many mension the problem that the IBEX is not as tall as the pegasus. Did you by any chance tried the pegasus as well?
Darn it, I am looking for a backpack over a week now and simply I can't find anything! My nerves! I would get the pegasus immediately if only I knew that my laptop fit in..
Unfortunately in the city that I live I couldn't find a single 17" backpack to test if my laptop fits in, so must ask people on internet and read reviews all day so that I won't end up buying a backpack that my laptop doesn't fit in!

I spoke to a guy on the ASUS fb page and he claims to own a G73 and that it fits in his Pegasus. I asked him how that's possible since the Pegasus is slightly smaller than the IBEX so he showed me a pic of his G73 in his Pegasus. He also said that it doesn't fit in the inner sleeve so he removed the sleeve and just puts the G73 in the sleeveless compartment.

Thank you sooo much! You are really great! I couldn't find any answer about this matter anywhere! So I now know for sure that it can fit my laptop!
If alienware orion can't be send to my country I will buy pegasus for sure!

I agree with you but the thing is that when you have to go to college and bring some books and your laptop with you, you can't hold two different bags, so you buy one that combines both! I really don't care if my backpack doesn't look pretty with my books and laptop in it, I only want to do my job! (and if possible not to have an ugly backpack!)

I just got a Orion Backpack (Alienware). Its huge with a lot of pockets! The only thing I dont like is that handle on the top of the backpack, it keeps hitting my head.

Just go to your local tailor or your mom and get them/her to sew it! Just fold the flap down (like an accordian) to your desired lenght and stich it up! Problem solved!!! :)

Yes, I did this to mine!
