    Hi,

I'm looking for recommendations for a 15.4" notebook bag.

I'm looking for bags that are as light as possible and have a pocket or two to store things like AC adapter, mouse, maybe cell phone and a pen.

It's got to have a shoulder strap as well.

I've seen some slim neoprene bags, but most don't have a shoulder strap and only have 1 compartment for the notebook and nothing else.

    Any suggestions?

15.4" Belking Messenger bag or sling bag version

Has LOTS of compartments and pockets and very good 360 protection for your notebook. It even comes with a detachable pouch for the AC adapter. Highly recommend it

Have a look at this thread for some inspiration. Then check other more recent threads started by SarahM for some more reviews.

Personally, I have an allergy to messenger bags with flaps because the flap gets in the way.

    Consider the Samsonite L45.

I'm pretty much in the same kind of pickle. I was looking at Timbuk2 bags, as they seem to get a lot of praise. But I saw that the dimensions for what they could fit were 14.2x10. My Inspiron 1520 is 14.1x10.6. Thus being .6 inches too tall for the Timbuk2 bag. Now I need a different one.

I would recommend not getting a backpack with a single strap, as it is bad for your back.

But if you want to play Russian Roulette with your health, then go ahead and get a carrying case with a strap :p

    Best Wishes,

I am the other way round...I dont like ones with zips, I feel safer with a velcro flap... :p

with regards to the health thing...personally i think with a backpack...its ''inviting'' to put more stuff in, making it more heavy overall, so to me, there is no difference to me. I travel light. :D

from what i've seen the wenger maxxum is a good backpack (if you want a pack and not a messenger bag) - very comfortable and good padding/lots of pockets.
