    Hi All,

Long time member but more of a lurker on here :)

I have an m15r1 Core i7 2080rtx max q, but it only came with the 180w PSU.

Whats the best 240w PSU to get for it?

I have one which was for an M17R4 but when plugged in the BIOS complains its not the right PSU for the laptop, I disabled this warning and found that the machine was under performing in games. Compared to the 180W it was really poor.

So does anyone have the correct part number for the 240W which I believe I should have gotten with the 2080rtx max q that I have.

    Cheers

Any 240w Alienawre adapter should work as long as it has the same plug....I am a little surprised it's complaining if it's a genuine Dell adapter. Are you sure that the adapter is in working order? If they new newer thin and lights to only work with newer adapters that would be a first as pretty much any Alienware adapter has worked with any Alienware laptop provided the plug type is the same and it can give enough wattage. If you bend the cord around a bit does it start to work? If you watch the screen brightness it should shoot up if the adapter starts to work.

I use the adapter from my 17R4 on my Area51m and it does not care at all, works no problem.
