with my shiny new 17r3, i have been getting this a lot:
    Capture.JPG

it updated the driver a couple days ago. since then, I haven't been very confident in my new machine. at the same time the computer is so new to me that i dont know the update has anything to do with it. yesterday that happened enough that i actually practiced hitting CTRL+FN+PrintScreen so i could record it and ask. today it only happened once. i was viewing a fairly simple webpage in Waterfox at the time.

about an hour later i was redrawing artwork in CorelDraw X7, very simple artwork: a black box with two letters in it, and i had another crash but this time it blue screened me. of all the work i could have lost, thank god it was only that. in four years my old M17xR2 never did that

i took over the small family business. i make and install signs. so i make realistic renderings on here and then i go build the stuff in real life. i need to get some stability out of this thing. i use it for all my design work and also to manage quickbooks, email, etc.

i'm new to this laptop, but i quickly learned the importance of driver installation order with my trusty ol' M17xR2. i tried googling this issue and i read such a mix of stuff i figure it best to ask here where i trust the advice.

-could this be caused because the intel 530 updated? i'm not sure as this thing is only a week old.

-does it matter my error says windows 8 but i'm using windows 10 pro? or maybe windows just sucks?

-should i uninstall the nvidia, and then uninstall the intel, and then reinstall the intel, followed by the nvidia? after reading up this seems like a good idea. it makes sense the drivers are more or less installed out of order because the intel updated recently, making it technically installed after the GeForce. or am i overthinking things? i think i read too much and confused myself.

    i have this:
    2.JPG

i need to get rid of this: Capture.JPG and this: Capture2.JPG

any recommendations will be very appreciated. this is one of very few forums i read for trustworthy info.

The Intel GPU drivers are a bit flaky. Uninstall the drivers and downlaod them manually from the intel website instead.

Getting the same issues on a 17 R3 fresh out of the box. Going to completely uninstall the Intel Graphics drivers and try Beta 15.40.23.4444. Will report back.

it's been fine since updating the drivers. well... actually, after installing the intel and geforce drivers, youtube videos sounded like electronic fuzz. very strange. i had to update the sound blaster drivers as well and it's been stable like i'd expect.

i previously noticed when i would save things to the desktop, i'd need to hit refresh for them to appear. that has been fixed by the updates as well :)

Guttsy, any chance you could go to Device manager and the propreties for the 530 HD and tell me what driver version you see there? I did this after installing the Beta version and got an odd answer.
