is this useable in a lap/in bed?
also would i be able to get a mousepad/mouse on it?

would prob get the u2 as its more portable

alternatives i found are these 3, as they seem to more usable in the lap. dont think any of them would hurt the cooling system too much and they have areas so i can take my mouse with me

It doesn't sound like you want a cooling pad as much as just a lapdesk. This is what I have used before, would be perfect for a 13" with mouse. You may even have enough room for a small cooling pad on it as well if you wanted.

I like this because it is easy to pickup and move, and is padded on the bottom for your legs or the bed, where ever you place it. Works on the couch or on the bed just the same.

Your best bet is to modify a lap desk. Simply cut out a rectangle large enough for the cooler you want, then mount it with some screws and brackets.

what about a fan under the lapp desk? first link has space for air to be blown up. the 2nd link shows my idea (clip some fans under the desk)

im really mostly looking for a desk that i can use a mouse on/not have the hot laptop directly on me. the fans are just to see if i can the laptop's fan be more quiet during load.

I actually plan on making my own lapdesk/bed-desk. It won't have any fans but it will provide more ventilation compared to if it was on a desk or bed. I couldn't find anything that suited my needs, which is small and thin, so I'm trying to make my own. I don't know how it's gonna turn out but I'll keep you updated!
