I have recently re pasted my laptop and in the process of removing the antenna cables from the wireless card the connections were damaged as they came off with the cable.
is there a better card available in the uk as it has the killer 1525 but i am struggling to find one, also can you get replacement antenna cables as i think ill get some just in case.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you damaged the card most likely the piece is stuck inside the antenna cable and that is very difficult to remove, most people just get a replacement.

Do you still have warranty? Just say that all of a sudden the spot where the Wifi module seats get very hot and wifi intermittently dies, now it's dead permanently. Most likely you'll get either a tech to come, don't accept the mail in service/depot, they're known to be rough to laptops and damage stuff.

one time i had the same issue as you with an intel 7620 antena ... the pin get stuck inside the antenna cable connector, and i remove it easily by pressing it with a needle the little piece come out and i replaced the wifi with another one ... i dont recommend you changing the antennas because you will have to remove the front bezel on your laptop and it use plastic clips to hold in place, so if you remove it, it is possible that are not going to fit as before

You can idneed remove it with a thin pin. Just make sure you do not ruin the antenna connectors itself. To replace those you have to solder new cables onto the antenna's which are embedded in the screen lid itself. Dell actually needs to replace the screenlid assembly for replacing the antenna cables itself.

Thanks for the reply guys. I'm going to order the intel 8265. In regards to the antenna cables I have already removed the broken bits I was just going to get some incase of any issues.
