Hello guys, I have an adaptive brightness problem, my notebook screen QHD+, and bios A04, Windows 10

Problem: Screen dims when there is a dark picture on screen and brightens up when there is a light picture on screen.

    I have disabled

    1) Sensor monitoring services in services.msc

    2) Adaptive brightness in advanced power options to off for both plugged in and battery

    3) Intel power saving technology option in my graphics options

    4) Dell power saving technology in FX

I disabled everything but the problem is not solved

Hey, I was on the support line with the Swedish Dell support about this a second ago.
They had no answer, they were as baffled as I am.
    Alienware 15' r2 (late 2015)
I did all the options you tried. Found this post through google.

    Bios updated
All power settings on "high performance" and specifically put everything on "max" (brightness, cpu usage etc)
This issue came for me when I got this laptop( A replacement because my old one was dead inside out)
My old one had 0 issues with this. This is the OLD specs that had adaptive brightness permanently off.

    i7 6820hk.
    nVidia 980m 4gb
    1920x1080
    16gb RAM

This one below HAS this issue.

    i7 6820hk.
    nVidia 980m 8gb
    3840x2160
    16gb RAM

Might be one of the later Windows updates. We are not alone. The post below seems to have the same issue.

The tech support told me they would contact me on Monday, trying to work out more fixes.

Try the latest Intel drivers. Then go to the intel control panel > power settings and turn those things off. There is a dynamic contrast option mentioned there. After that reboot.

Also turn automatic driver updates off.

It is sitll active only now you dont even can use basic intel HD driver improvements. Now you just use the basic windows VGA drivers in 2D mode.

I've noticed that this only occurs when pc is booting from AC power, and not while on Battery power. I've only tested it a few times though, so not confirmed.
