Just FYI. When doing a clean install from Windows 8/8.1. Windows 10 will complain about the structure of the GPT partitions. This tells me that Windows 10 sets them up different.
That's one thing...
The next thing to mention after doing about 12 Windows 10 "upgrades" is that I can say for sure that the "upgrade" process is what causes alot of reported "bugs". I ran into a couple of bugs. When I did a clean install on the same machine the bugs were resolved everything was perfect.
People are thinking the OS is buggy when in fact just Windows is acting as it always has been. An upgrade is convenient but its still a "Dirty Install" its in some ways installing an OS over and OS. Hence why they call a fresh install a "Clean install"
-
What are the "bugs" you talking about? Because I upgrade it last week and found no "bugs" whatsoever at all, it working as intended just like Windows 8.1 but faster.
-
Did an upgrade also and I did not come across any bugs....

The bugs I have referred to were strange UI bugs that may or may not apply to you as it would depend on the drivers and software you have installed.
There have also been performance bugs. I had a couple machines that were benchmarking low and even producing low frames in games.
Did a clean install and all was resolved for all of the above mentioned issues.
I have seen many people complain about Windows 10's performance and even some bugs online. Since MS is pushing these "free upgrades" and basically streamlining the "upgrade" process. I cannot help but think that much of these issues are simply related to the fact that they are not "clean" installs.
I know it can be a daunting task to Clean Install but if you are going to be using Windows 10 for a while then I would suggest doing some "Spring Cleaning" hehe.
Im personally still holding off with my main desktop. I end up swapping parts too much. I dont want to have to buy Windows yet. Im also waiting to see whats going to happen with the trademarked "Windows 365". My bet is they will give people Windows and never take it away.. but will eventually come out with a major update equal to a service pack or even perhaps something as large as what would be Windows 11 and then thats when they will require their subscription based "Service".
It will happen though... Mark my words. -
Overall, I've not yet encounter any UI, system or any weirdness though, but I might just well give a clean install a try and see if it would fix the problem. -
My 15 is fine, just had to reinstall a couple of drivers but I do get what you say, when I "upgraded" from windows 7 to 8 it was a nightmare, even while I did it on a brand new laptop (lol, I was lazy)
Windows 10 Clean install is a must
