Hello,
(Reminder: This is NOT a hardware-related issue.)
How can you eliminate white vertical line in videos that are in full screen or even in window-mode (for Hulu and Netflix).
It annoys me, it happens in Edge, Chrome, and Firefox. The computer I'm using is an Late 2014 Alienware 13 i5500U with 1440P screen option running Windows 10.
The interesting part is...the white line only appears if the windows setting is at 150% zoom. It goes away at 100% or normal. (Of course, you know...it's hard to read at 100%)
So...what's the solution to fix this problem? Is this Java/Shockplayer issue? Silverlight?
Or should I just report this to Microsoft? This is why I wanted to ask you guys first.
Thank you,
-
Being optimistic, here's what you can do for self-diagnostics first:
1) Do you see the same issue while viewing Youtube on HTML5/Flash?
If this works, it indicates an issue with Java/Shockplayer/Silverlight or graphics rendering.
2) Try setting Chrome/FF to use the Nvidia dedicated GPU instead, from Nvidia Control Panel.
If this works, then it's a problem with your Intel iGPU or the driver installed.
3) In which case, try installing another driver from Intel Download Center.
They released 4256 a few days ago, so it might work (fixed TDRs for me). -
That's very interesting...thank you.
I tried Chrome and Edge in dedicated and IGPU. No difference for Netflix, YouTube, or Facebook.
However...in Firefox, using dedicated and IGPU, there's no black/white line on right side of screen.
You are correct, they're only displaying in Java/Shockplayer/Silverlight only in Chrome and Edge. What should I do?
I'll try installing that driver to see if it fixes the problem.
EDIT:
It blocked me from installing, it gave me this message:
Error: The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer’s manufacturer. Setup will exit.Last edited: Aug 15, 2015 -
If you want to install that Intel Graphics Driver, you'll have to uninstall both your current Nvidia and Intel Graphics drivers.
