Granted that I have not had a lot of time to use my R4 with the 1535 but the few hours I did before I turned it off due to absurb temps on the GPU I didn't have any issues at all with the Killer card. Either way I had already ordered the Intel card and it should be here in the next week or two so I will probably switch it out regardless.

I had to apply light pressure while pulling them straight out. But i think but the pressure is always a bit uneven, so the back pops up earlier than the front. Maybe it is just because my card is more than a year old and from a totally different batch.

In the aw15r1 and r2 you have to remove it for a repaste. Because you have to remove the screen also and the antenna cables are routed in those hinge holders.

So I have a question, I went to replace the wireless card but my cables still have the rings inside of it from the old card. It's hard to explain and I don't think its even possible to get a pic cuz they're so tiny and hard to focus on (besides I put the laptop back together anyway haha). Basically the cable is like a "O" shape and the connector is a slightly smaller "O" that fits inside of it. Tried using tweezers to get it out, couldn't get a grip on it. I have a feeling its gonna require a screen replacement or wherever those wires lead to

The cables aren't built into the LCD frame like most laptops. They're actually routed into the bottom half of the case under the mainboard. I was able to extract the brass o-ring from my antenna successfully but, you really need a magnifying stand with a light, some very fine tipped o-ring extracts and a lot of patience.

The antennas are soldered to the lid of the computer, on the top, under the LCD.
They would need to replace the whole lid assembly to fix this.
They will fix this on the R4 with out an accidental damage warranty as this has been a common problem recently.

I think they are inside the screen. I got a response from the Alienware tech support saying they'll have to send out a replacement screen lid like the person above said. I personally never kept track of where the wires were, but from past laptops I do remember them being in the lid. Makes sense, for interference and signal strength

I sent a support request to Killer about the disconnects during high loads and just got this reply back. I'll be trying out the driver in the link.

Sorry for the delay in getting back with you. We have tested many different desktops and laptops and finally been able to reproduce this issue. It does not affect all platforms, so we had to determine which platforms could reliably reproduce the issue for us. We are working with our driver developers to fix future drivers, but for the time being, we have confirmed that using an older driver version for the Killer Wireless-AC adapter resolves the issue for the time being.

Please download the INF package for driver version 12.0.0.230 here:
    www.killernetworking.com/support/Killer-Wireless-AC_INF_12.0.0.230.zip

Then extract the package and install via Device Manager. If you need some guidance on how to install a driver via Device Manager, please refer to the first article this page of our knowledge base (Installing drivers without Killer feature set):

They are sent up through the lid. New cables come with a new lid. They pretty much go all around the entire lid, I guess that is what gives the 1535 such good signals.

Do you know anything about the Lids Tron lights? I had my back lid replaced and of course with one thing fixed another problem was created - the Tron lights on the lid (the 2 sides, alienware lettering on the front and the logo on the back, don't light up). I assume its a simple cable that needs to be plugged in but before I start taking it apart I figure I'd ask. Didn't want to keep the tech for another 1-2 hours when I could probably do it myself quicker if I know where to look. The Tron lights work fine everywhere else and I checked both tron cable connections on the right and left sides of the motherboard. I assume there is another somewhere..

Yup, you're right, just checked again on my system. No idea why I thought they were apart of the bottom assembly, I must simply be going insane. o_O
