    Hey everyone,

I just placed an order for Alienware 15 and can't wait to receive my new computer.
Now, I went with no ssd option since I thought it will be much cheaper to install one myself.

My question is, what will be the best storage combination for this laptop?

Should I go with 1k HDD as backup driver and 256 ssd as primary?
Or since 1K HDD is only 5200 rpm, throw that away and go with one 512 ssd?

Also, which if I were to go with the first option, which m.2 ssd will fit in this laptop?

Lastly, how can I install new ssd and transfer/fresh install windows to that new ssd since it doesn't come with windows disc from the factory.

    Thanks in advance!

I'd say use the 1TB hard drive as the storage and buy an m.2 SSD (SATA III, not PCI express) for the OS and your favorite game. There is only enough space for one 2.5" drive inside the AW 15 so you'll have to add an m.2 SSD to one of the 2 empty m.2 sockets. Also, I wasn't aware AW is still shipping 5400 rpm drives, even the low end AW 15 gets a 1 TB 7200 rpm, well here in the states anyways.

At the moment there is no bios raid option right now to put those drive together and run the os off of it, makes sense to buy one 500 and later on add another

i am at a loss at to which way to go myself i have a 850 pro 500gb right now as my primary and thinking about software raid for the m.2 slots If Dell never decides to release a bios raid, but if they do release it i would rather have 4x500gb raid-0 and say a 1tb slave

but hell i suppose will freeze over before they will answer that question for their customers

Don't really know a whole lots about crucial always been a Samsung fanboy i guess , but that's a pretty good deal, i would do some performance comparisons and see what best fits you.
