Hi everyone. I've ordered a new 15r4 but dell's ram prices for upgrade seem quite expensive (I know they're quite expensive at the moment anyway)
Where's the best place to buy compatible ram in UK or should I buy from Dell direct?

any ddr4 sodimm 2400mhz or 2667mhz should work! for example ive got 2x16gb ddr4 sodimm 3000mhz corsair vengeance in my alienware 15 r3. they work fantastic at 2666mhz! they are 3000mhz but they only work at 2666mhz cause thats the maximum speed my laptop suports! hope it helps!
i think you should aim for 2666mhz instead of 2400mhz. faster speeds for a bit more money!

    Absolutely.
I was just googling and the price for me to go from 8gb to 16gb with Dell, I can buy my own fresh 16gb corsair ram!
I was just worried with compatibility but will just order now. Thanks!

Now just to decide whether to just add 8gb of corsair to the Dell one or just get 2 sticks fresh.

go for hyper X impact or corsair vengance or Gskill that brands are really good, you should be fine with all of them. if you can afford 2666mhz go, but if the price is too much compared with 2400mhz go for the lower ones. the difference on real world is almost non. the important is that do you need 2 of the same ones to achieve double channel
