    What size/type of SSD do you need to buy for the Alienware 15?

    In what I ordered there was the 128 GB SSD for the system drive and the 1TB HDD that is included by default (I didn't pay extra for it). I would like to order a 512 GB SSD to replace all of this. What size/model number do I need to look for?

    I want to do this right from the start due to not wanting to have to reinstall everything, and due to the significantly lowered Canadian dollar which will lead to significantly higher prices for all imported goods very soon.

    How easy is it to do these replacements? Should I try, or should I pay a local computer shop to do it?

    So will a standard SSD fit in just fine? According to your signature, it isn't installed in your AW15.

    Look at the evo 850 from newegg its the fastest ssd and newegg has them for around $200

    I am not American, I can't buy it from that place, and Newegg Canada has a much worse price.

    I ended up ordering the Samsung 850 Evo from Direct Canada, it was slightly cheaper than the Crucial.

    I wonder how the hardware encryption feature works because that would interest me very much. My current desktop and small laptop both have SSDs, although encrypted with Diskcryptor.

    I had 500gb samsung SSD + 1TB HDD on my m14x, but for AW15 , 500gb is not enough (games & games) , 1tb 2.5" would be great since the m.2 ssd don't have 1tb even thou it does gonna be really expansive.

    you can run a 256 ssd m.2 for the OS and run the Evo 500 gb as a slave, just install all your games to the slave.
