What graphics cards does the Alienware 17 R2 come with?

I got sent a refurb to replace my Alienware 17 R1 (father's computer), but the rep said it had "860M SLI enabled", which I know is not possible.....but the spec sheet doesn't point out as to what card is actually in it. All I know is it has a 4980HQ, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB M2 ssd + 1TB HDD. All I can find for graphics is "Module,Information,Video,No Video,4GB,Asset Recovery Business"

Did AW17 R2s come that highly specced, with a GTX 860M single? Or is it possible it is a GTX 980M? Or even a 970M? Doubtful on the 970M because it is a 3GB vRAM card, right?

 

The 17 R2 come with either a GTX 970m 3GB or GTX 980m 4GB. Only the AW13 came with a GTX 860m in the most recent lineup.
Most likely, you got a 980m.

 

It's definitely a 980m if it's 4GB and an AW17 R2. If you get a config that oesn't suit your needs, contact the person in charge of your exchange via email and they'll help with that

 

It is my father's computer, and he doesn't even game or do anything remotely taxing. Just does web browsing and movie watching. He should be more than happy with this configuration, provided everything works. It should last him a good while for his needs. Here is the itemized list:

Yeah, it ended up coming with a 980M. Sweet config to replace the Alienware 17 R1, they really outdid themselves on that one.
