    Hi guys,

Today I have received my 2300$ laptop. It has a 980m.

The first thing I did was :

    1. Put my 2 x 8 go PC 12800 1600 mhz Corsair Vengeance.
=> first issue : I got a "beep" 4 times. I used to use my 16 go on a MSI GS60 2QE and I've never had any issues.
Can you tell me why those ram don't work on my laptop ? MB issues ?

    2. I can't manage to have a proper resolution on windows !! Even though Nvidia configuration panel and Intel panel are configured on 1920 1080 !! I have checked everything and re install the drivers but no way.

    3. Just by installing drivers, I got one of my core CPU up to 83°C.

Geez, I'm very disappointed for the moment.
If somebody can help, I'll be very grateful.

Thx a lot for the responses.

The ram are 1,5v on the spec page bro. Is that the main issue ?

Do you mean the laptop requires only 1,35v ram ?

Thanks a lot for the response

Well yes, the new laptops require 1.35v DDR3(L) RAM. It's more of a CPU hassle, I think.
As for the blurry screen, which resolution did you opt for at purchase. FHD or UHD? It would actually be helpful if you listed the specs of the laptop.
Also, if you want lower temps, flash A00 BIOS.

yes that unit can only support 1.35 volt DDR3-L RAM if it is 1.5V DDR3 it will not use it.

Indeed friends, thanks for the information. It must be the 1,5V which are no more compatible with this Intel MB.
For the blurry screen, it disappeared this morning, I guess it needed some updates from windows or whatever to be up to date.

Now, I have 1 major concern which is bottering me much than the 2 first ones :
    - my top right fan, while under windows, from time to time, activates itself BUT, I can clearly hear the rolling balls of the fan making some sharp/acute/ high pitched sound.
I used to have the exact same problem on my previous MSI but couldn't find a fan to replace it.

2 solutions for me now :
    - Either I ask for a replacement fan but it will, again, takes some time, for a brand new machine.
    - do you know the exact reference model of the fan so I can try to change it ?

Is it hard to swap it ?

Thanks a lot friends for the help !

If you have warranty why not ask dell to change it for you? i think you have next day help at your home? Or get the laptop replaced. I'm good at computers but laptops i would not dare to open to much incase i damage something and smoke my warranty.
The home repair is pretty cool, you can see what they guy does and whatnot, i hate it to send the laptop to third-party where i dont know how they mess up with my laptop, here you see exactly what is done and if your still not satisfied then you can anyway get it replaced :D

Exactly, avoid doing your own repair work in a machine with warranty support already ;)
