I guess I posted this on the wrong AW subsection earlier, here it is again!

I am trying to get the 4k Alienware to replace a 1080p MSI GT80. What type of performance am I looking to get when playing games like witcher 3 at 4k resolution?

I will be using the highest specced AW15 and I would also like to know how I would perform if I used the graphics amplifier with a GT980.

Even with the GTX 980 I would not want to be playing that at native res, it would most likely do fine at 1080p though. The graphics amp will get you roughly the same performance you can expect from a desktop, but it will be slightly held back by the mobile CPU. In other words expect slightly less performance with a 980 in the graphics amp than you would expect out of full scaling with the GT80.
