    Hello everyone,

Some time ago it was said (or I didn't get it right) that we should keep Nvidia drivers in sync with the drivers from Dell.

So I am sitting with the official 385.14 driver.

Is it safe to update my drivers to the latest version or should I stick with the ones from Dell's website?

    Cheers!

    Try 388 WHQL drivers.
Delete folders to get no bloatware shipped with nvidia drivers. Folders deleted as per @j95 instruction.

Of course you can safely update to the Nvidia ones :p there is no problems using Nvidia's drivers and is usually recommended since Dell/Alienware is not exactly fast at releasing updated drivers for GPU's.

Occasionally you might run into a problem where a brand spanking new driver won't install because of incompatibility for some reason as Nvidia has to tell the drivers that they are good with our machines and sometimes they forget to do that. If you wait for Alienware to release updates drivers you may get stuck when trying to run new AAA games like when BF1 was released and those on older drivers couldn't launch the game as the game wanted a specific driver or newer.

As for installing without bloatware as @Vasudev pointed out there are guides out there and you can choose to do custom install and not include what you don't want to a degree.
