This is the sound of my CPU fan of my 17 R3 running at the second rpm step (2/4 or roughly 40~60% speed) https://clyp.it/3s4jyqsi

Is that normal (i'm assuming it's not)??, the temps are no different than usual, rarely 3-4 degrees celsius higher than usual.

this is not normal, try using compressed air to blow dust. If this doesn't work, call tech support and they will replace it.

The laptop is only 5 weeks old though, i don't think there's enough dust buildup yet to cause such a noise, but i will contact support anyways to get them to fix this.

We have similar fan issues in a brand new unit too.

Dell should do system exchange since these are new laptops with issues and lack of quality control.

Almost sounds like the bearings are no good or something. Got some slight rattling going on, I think.

The clicking is the sound of the HDD, the whizzing is the sounding i'm talking about.

Anyways, i got dell to order me a new cpu fan, so all i gotta do now is wait.
