    Hi,

While I await my replacement AW 15 R3 I got to wondering if there was anyone or any company in the U.K. which comes recommended so far as repasting and replacing the thermal pads goes?

I'm not completely averse to doing it myself but would probably prefer someone who knows what they are doing.

Following out of interest. Although will probably just do it myself when I get time.

In the UK here too, off the top of my head I don't know of any companies that do it, however I'd prefer to do it myself than have someone else do it. I started repasting my old laptops as practice and it's valuable knowledge imo. Just take it slow, follow the tutorials from more experienced members on this board or YouTube and you'll be fine. No experience with changing thermal pads though, so I can't say how difficult that'll be.

    Hi guys,

Though that might be the case, I used to build my own desktops (but stopped when I switched to laptops 10 years ago) so I've done thermal pasting before, just nervous after all these years with nearly £2k worth of hardware!

Might practice on my XPS 17 and then go to the AW if I'm happy.

Pads are easy, do them one at a time and use each piece as a template to cut a new piece as you go. Takes a while, maybe 1-2 hours but definitely worth it!

I love I the UK but don't offer a repaste service. PM me for any help though of course, I've done this several times on both my laptops with LM. Pete
